Hofstede (2011) identifies cultural dimensions that are globally applicable and are reflected in all aspects of life, including family life, child-rearing practices, education, employment, and health care practices. Northouse (2016), identifies Hofstede’s “five major dimensions in which culture differ by: power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism-collectivism, masculinity-femininity, and long-term-short-term orientation” (p 431).
